"12 OCTOBER 18. THERMAL HERITAGE DAY” Celebration of the European thermal heritage

12 of October the Day of the Thermal Heritage was held at the Gellert hotel in Budapest. The event was organized by the Scientific Committee of EHTTA (European Historic Thermal Towns Assocation), of which Mario Crecente is Vice President and had the support of Budapest Spas and Danubius Hotels.

At the beginning of the event, the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics, participated along with the first deputy mayor of Budapest, Gábor Bagdy and the Vice presidents of EHTTA, Bernard Kadjzan (Vichy) and Manuel Baltar (province of Ourense).

Supporting the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, the program included lectures on various projects, such as the World Heritage nomination of the "Great Spas of Europe" (in charge of Paul Simons) or the project "thermal heritage of Europe atlas" (presented by Mario Crecente). In addition, László Szőke analyzed the culture of the baths in Budapest and Mihaly Vasony reviewed the history of Géllert since its founding.

Finally, the roundtable "Thermal and Future Heritage" took place, in which three representatives of the new generations collaborated: Silvia G. Soutelo (archaeologist), Anne-Kathrin Liehr (market specialist) and Eszter Pulay (deputy director of Gellért Spa).
