Coordination of the Thermal Towns National Meeting celebrated in the Thermal Town of Guitiriz on 25-26 September 2008. It was hold at the Hotel Balneario Hesperia Guitiriz, offering views to the Ruta del Agua trail, to the city of Lugo and to the Roman spa. Some national and autonomy authorities, including the Galician Ministry of Environment, Manuel Vázquez, and the Ministry of Justice, Francisco Caamaño, attended the event. The main outcomes of this congress were the inclusion of thermalism as a rural development strategy and the State commitment to allocate one million euros to the Thermal Towns Association.
