This third year is dealing with the comparative study of three singular international cases —the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and the Inca Way (Peru), the Holy Week in Seville, and the Way of Saint James— focusing on management issues in these places, carrying capacity, and problems, challenges and opportunities that involve their touristic management. The meeting is celebrated in Santiago de Compostela a year before the next Xacobeo holy year, which is expected to play a relevant role in the economic boost facing the crisis. It is hold in the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, full of references to the Way of Saint James and back then, action model to activate a heritage resource devoted to touristic use. 23-25 September 2009
