European Heritage Congress

From 12th to 14th May, Mario Crecente attended to the European Heritage Congress organized by Europa Nostra in Turku, the oldest city in Finland.

The event had a rich programme of meetings, events and cultural visits. Mario Crecente was present in the public session of the General Assembly, dedicated to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 (EYCH2018). During this panel discussion, speakers talked about how public authorities can contribute to mobilize and engage citizens throughout EYCH2018, with a particular focus on the role of NGOs and European regions and cities. Furthermore, he attended to the Forum on "SHARING HERITAGE – Citizens Participating in Decision-Making", organized by Europa Nostra Finland and the University of Turku.

During those days, Mario Crecente, as Vice-President of the Scientific Committee of the European Historic Thermal Towns Association, was in contact with different stakeholders in the cultural heritage sector from all over Europe and he collected interesting data for the future steps of the Thermal Heritage of Europe Atlas.
