International Spa Heritage Festival

On October 9, within the framework of the International Spa Heritage Festival, organized in Saratoga Springs in New York State, Mario Crecente presented the conference “Therapeutic Landscapes in Thermal Cities: Sharing European Traditions”.

During his presentation, he reported on the European Thermal Heritage meetings he led in the towns of Wiesbaden (Germany) in 2021, Lądek-Zdrój (Poland) in 2022 and Mondariz-Balneario (Galicia, Spain) in 2023 and presented the resulting book, “Therapeutic Landscapes”, published by EHTTA.

The International Spa Heritage Festival has served to present to the North American public for the first time the EHTTA network, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and the cultural itinerary, validated by the Council of Europe. The festival also featured other conferences that connected European cities with the Saratoga Spa State Park, a park created around its mineral-medicinal resources under the impetus of President Roosevelt with the New Deal.
