International Thermal Health Tourism Forum - Pamukkale
Between January 11 and 13, Turkey hosted the International Thermal Health Tourism Forum at the Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Culture Center of the Metropolitan Municipality of Denizli and the Thermal Rehabilitation Center of Pamukkale University. The objective of the meeting was to foster exchange and collaboration in the health tourism sector by bringing together national and international experts to share theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as to address sector challenges innovatively and promote sustainable solutions.
The event was organized comprehensively, featuring panels, workshops, presentation meetings, booths, and excursions. The diverse range of topics discussed during the event related to health tourism reflected a broad spectrum of approaches. Presentations highlighted current and successful examples of applications in various aspects of health tourism. Additionally, there was an exchange of ideas regarding innovative and sustainable solutions to address sector challenges. This varied and comprehensive approach contributed to enriching discussions and promoting a profound understanding of current dynamics in the field of health tourism.
During the forum, Mario Crecente, as the President of the Scientific Committee of the European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA), provided a detailed overview of the creation and evolution of this entity. In his speech, he emphasized significant events and developments that have contributed to consolidating European thermal towns and their inherent heritage. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of these efforts to preserve and promote the associated historical legacy. Additionally, a portion of his presentation was dedicated to highlighting Turkey's rich thermal heritage, emphasizing the country's notable potential in this tourism typology.
