Description:
This project included the target of the Intervention Area AI-7 set out in the Special Protection Plan for the Good of Cultural Interest with the category of historic site in the complex of thermal fountains in the Burgas and their delimited setting, and the conditioning of the damaged bed of the Barbaña river and its surroundings, as well as its integration in the environment.
Based on physical and historic references of the intervention area, we propose a THERMAL WALK that will serve as a pedestrian connection between the two main thermal areas of the city: As Burgas and its setting, on which thermal centres, hotels and services are projected; with the bed of the Miño river, the thermal Miño, and its numerous offers: Chavasqueira, Bouvette, Pools, to Outariz, which also has new equipment and thermal hotels projected, also connected through a thermal Boulevard and the accessibility to the new high-speed train station.
We have rezoned the space, taking the original ANABARtoponymy and based on a typography derived from Corbusier Modulor, we organised a series of sculptural characters distributed along the new thermal walk on which "A's" would be thermal water fountains (and even the relocated market sink), that compare their impeccable stainless-steel texture with the rusty COR-TEN steel texture of all other characters.
We perform this duty in collaboration with the architect Manuel SeoaneFeijoo, the archaeologist Celso Rodríguez Cao, the architect Marta Rodríguez Vázquez, and the team of CrecenteAsociados. Restoration and Adaptation Project of the Setting of the Santo Anxo Building.
