Session of the World Heritage Committee. Krakow.Poland

On initial July we assist to the 41st Session of the World Heritage Committee, as vice_president of the Scientific Committee, as representative of the European Historical Thermal Towns Association, and members of the European heritage Alliance 3.3 supporting the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. 

Interested items was analysed in the sessions: World Heritage convention and sustainable development; Tourism as the first main thematic area for the periodic report, later disaster risk management, awareness raising, and conflict; Synergies with other natural conventions; and the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

On the side event organized by Europa Nostra: A structured dialogue with the Civil Society, speakers were: the chairperson of the Session, the Director of the World Heritage Center, and  the representatives of IUCN, ICOMOS and ICCROM. Also presentation from the assistant’s with special relevance of a group the World heritage Watch network, a group composed by different NGO´s that ask for transparency, a more structured participation, and a Working Group for all UNESCO regions.
