Start of archaeological and 3D documentation actions of the Altamira Towers
In February 2021, works in the first phase of action in the Torres de Altamira (Brión) began, promoted by the Heritage area of the Provincial Council of A Coruña and coordinated by Crecente Asociados.
After the development of the previous archaeological studies, the company Terra Arqueos proceeded to remove the existing vegetation in the walls and environment of the remains of the constructions. In a second moment, it is planned that the Laboratory of Territory Studies of the University of Santiago de Compostela will execute a cartographic mapping from lidar-drone and laser terrestrial scanner.
The ultimate goal is to have the precise information to develop a conservation proposal and a dynamization, use and valorization strategy of the Altamira Towers, coherent with their historical, cultural and landscape importance.
