Visit of the Hispanic Society of America
During the visit of the board of the Hispanic Society of America to Galicia, Mario Crecente met with the attendees to present on site the main values of the Ribeira Sacra’s nomination to the World Heritage List.
This meeting, that follows other previous meetings in New York, takes place in 2025, coinciding with the centenary of Ruth Matilda Anderson’s trip to Galicia, and the photographs that she took of various enclaves of our geography, such as the Monastery of Santo Estevo in Nogueira de Ramuín, or the vineyard of Cortezada, in A Teixeira.
We share some pictures about this visit and hope to greet soon again in Galicia the board of this institution, founded by Archer Milton Hungtington in 1904 as a “free public library, museum and educative institution” in order to contribute to the “advancement of the study of the Spanish and Portuguese languages, literature, and history, and advancement of the study of the countries wherein Spanish and Portuguese are or have been spoken languages”.
