Waterscapes: bridging the past and the future
On November 6, 7, and 8, 2023, Ribeira Sacra will host the International Meeting "Waterscapes - Water Landscapes: Connecting the Past to the Future," organized by the Department of Culture, Education, Vocational Training, and Universities of the Xunta de Galicia.
The event aims to promote the recognition of water as a shaping element of the landscape, particularly highlighting its value and significance in river environments through the joint actions of humans and nature throughout history. Representatives from UNESCO, ICOMOS, and IUCN, along with experts from the academic fields, World Heritage site managers, and representatives of various initiatives related to water values will participate in the different sessions.
The program of conferences and roundtable discussions, as well as the instructions to attend, both in person and online, can be found on the website waterscapesribeirasacra.com
