EHTTA General Assembly in Caldas da Rainha

From 16th to 18th May the Portuguese town of Caldas da Rainha hosted the General Assembly of the European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA) for the first time in Portugal. During the convention the participants were approached/taken to the cultural heritage of the city, among whose resources it must be pointed out the first Thermal Hospital in the world.

Mario Crecente, Vice-Chairman of the EHTTA Scientific Committee, attended the meeting and presented the project "Thermal Heritage of Europe Atlas", in which Caldas da Rainha had actively participated as one of the three selected localities to be part of the pilot study, along with Mondariz Balneario (Spain) and Bath (United Kingdom).

In this forum, Mario Crecente presented a reflection on the compelling necessity of reformulating Heritage and Tourism relations during his speech "Heritage Management, Cultural Routes and Sustainable Tourism".
