Coordination and monitoring of the Ribeira Sacra nomination to the World Heritage List

From Crecente Asociados, as coordinators of the Ribeira Sacra candidacy to the World Heritage List, we continue monitoring the Ribeira Sacra Management Plan, made up of 35 actions, 18 responsible departments and an investment of close to 35 million euro in 2020-2023.

Other instruments and opportunities that have arisen in parallel to the Plan boosts the continuous improvement of this territory and the reinforcement of the planned actions. In this sense, it is worth noting the synergies with the Ribeira Sacra Tourism Sustainability Plan, the Ourense Termal Tourism Sustainability Plan, the Pact for the Landscape or the Landscape Action Plan. Likewise, knowledge about this cultural landscape continues to be enriched by new investigations, such as the one carried out with the residents of the Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil nucleus, in Nogueira de Ramuín, regarding the Couto de Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil, which in 2021 it celebrated its 1100th anniversary.

Mario Crecente recently gave an account of these developments and the status of the candidacy at the Heritage Territories Forum, held in Monforte de Lemos on December 21 and 22.
