Delivery to the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Nomination Form of Ribeira Sacra to the World Heritage List

The Directorate General of Cultural Heritage of the Xunta de Galicia delivered today in Madrid the Nomination Form of Ribeira Sacra to the World Heritage List and its corresponding annexes. The documentation provided has been signed by the Director General of Fine Arts, Mr. Román Fernández-Baca Casares, and will be sent in the coming weeks by the Ministry of Culture and Sports to the World Heritage Center for evaluation.

This culminates another step to achieve the recognition of Ribeira Sacra as World Heritage. The delivered document is the result of the work developed in recent years by a multidisciplinar team, led by the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage of the Xunta de Galicia. Juan Mario Crecente Maseda is the coordinator of the Nomination Form and Ana Goy Diz is the scientific director.

Besides, today it was made a presentation of the Ribeira Sacra candidature at the Fitur International Tourism Fair. The act counted on the participation of the Tourism Consortium Ribeira Sacra, the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin and the Galician Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Román Rodríguez, Galician Minister of Culture and Tourism,informed about the official delivery of the documentation in the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sports and informed of the next steps of the candidacy. It is expected to know  the result of the evaluation in July 2021.
