Special Protection Plan for the As Catedrais Beach
Crecente Asociados, in collaboration with IBADER and GAU Urbanismo e Arquitectura, is writing the Special Plan for As Catedrais, PE_1, from the General Plan of Urban Planning, whose main target is preserving the heritage of this natural space of singular landscaping value and planning its uses, in defence of an environmentally-friendly tourism.
To achieve this goal, the plan must value the resources of the place, from the monument's intrinsic ones, not only the geologic and natural ones, but also those built by man, physically and in its memory, with the intangible heritage.
It is vital to make use of tools within our reach in that place, particularly the railway with its accessibility, its route, and its talus, that will allow us to work with the landscaping, as well as taking all agents into account, such as neighbours, associations, visitors and all involved administrations.
Technicians always work with north at the top and south at the bottom; however, when you see the plans of the area, the sea is above and the mountain is below. Rinlo residents taught us one thing: the point of view is what really matters and they arrange the land above and below the sea that shapes those cliffs of singular morphologic expression because, ultimately, land is just the drawing of sea.
