EXECUTION PROJECT - 1ST PHASE OF THE REMODELLING OF THE BALNEARIO DE LUGO-TERMAS ROMANAS (Lugo)
This project concludes five years of work that started with the writing of the MASTER PLAN OF THE HOTEL BALNEARIO DE LUGO-TERMAS ROMANAS, whose objective was: "to harmonise tourism and heritage with the use and value preservation of the good of cultural interest, without having to renounce to its original ending: healing with water."
This Execution Project covers two main fields of action: the inside remodelling of the building and the exterior urbanisation. These last measures were determined by construction works on the N-VI road, and on the city sanitary system. Besides, the establishment needed to comply with parking standards and, at the same time, integrate the building in the Miño banks and mitigate the impact on these facilities.
The inside remodelling respects the construction site next to the road and tries to complete a new communication core, accessible to all floors that presents the whole construction and allows, in later phases, the museological tour of the thermal area. The works also outline the remodelling of the affected spaces and the integration of the archaeological findings in the complex.
