Meeting of Cities to Discuss Governance and Urban Tourism: Vacation Rental
As we informed a few months ago, last 29th September, Crecente Asociados collaborated with the Santiago de Compostela Council in the organisation of the conference Santiago Turismo Ordenado (STO). More than 40 agents of the city touristic and social network attended this conference to address issues related to the carrying capacity, the reception capacity and the role of cities as a meeting point.
Following this analysis line, we had the honour of participating, by representing the Council, in the second session of the Meeting of Cities to Discuss Governance and Urban Tourism: Vacation Rental, that was attended by representatives of the FEMP and of the main urban destinations in Spain.
The work group met on 19th January in Madrid in the Tourism International Fair FITUR, a setting that invited reflection since, while hundreds of exponents around us tried to attract more tourists, the attendees to the last session discussed the limits of the tourism phenomenon and its regulations in protected areas and exposed to a strong pressure.
