Via Castrorum

Crecente Asociados outlined the proposal of touristic and cultural route "Via Castrorum" in order to participate in a project contest, whose winner was selected by a jury, to refurbish and musealise Galician-Roman sites in the province of Pontevedra. This contest was announced by the General Directorate for Architecture, Housing and Land. This global route was divided in regions to design customised experiences adapted to inhabitants, visitors and tourists/pilgrims.

The route was materialised in a web variant and a covered variant, planning for the latter two possibilities: the scenic or picturesque route and the cyclotourist or walker one. The web information was completed onsite thanks to the development of the signage proposal, equipped with a QR/NFC/WEB code system and complemented by a loyalty programme.

For each site, depending on the branding, we designed a musealisation project made of seven main elements, adaptable for a better scenic integration. This project satisfied the basic needs of the visit, such as access (time tunnel), itinerary design or delimitation of free access areas. Besides, it offered the visitor a true experience based on the physical duplication of findings, archaeological restitution works, use of 360° recreation technology and the provision of interpretative viewpoints related to the site and its environment.
